Work Placement
This course contains 100 hours of work placement

The workplace will need to provide avian services such as veterinary clinics, veterinary hospitals, welfare and rescue. 

Your work placement can be completed anywhere in the world, and you will be responsible for the costs of any travel, accommodation, insurance or any other requirements related to your work placement.

Unit 1 -      Introduction To Avian Care - This unit covers basic avian care and terminology

Unit 2 -      Avian Breeds - This unit covers the appropriate types of birds to keep for different purposes.

Unit 3 -      Housing Avians - This unit covers the appropriate housing for a range of different types of captive birds

Unit 4 -      Avian Feed and Nutrition - This unit outlines the feeding requirements to a range of different captive birds.

Unit 5 -      Avian Health Management - This unit covers management techniques for the health of a range of different birds.

Unit 6 -      Bird Classification - This unit describes the scope, nature and scientific classification of birds

Unit 7 -      Biology - This unit identifies anatomical and physiological characteristics of birds.

Unit 8 -      Land Birds - This unit identifies and describes a range of common and widespread land birds.

Unit 9 -      Flightless Birds - This unit identifies and describes a range of common and widespread land birds.

Unit 10 -    Water Birds - This unit identifies a range of sea birds and water birds

Unit 11 -    Birds of Prey - This unit identifies a range of hunters and birds of prey.

Unit 12 -    Passeriformes - This unit covers a range of Passeriformes.
