Have you completed the Certificate In Animal Care I and want to continue learning about various species? Are you working in a pet store, welfare, kennel or cattery? Continue your animal career with this certificate II course. In this course, students will learn about microbiology, domestic pet care and wildlife.
This course will give you broad skills in basic care and health and well-being of wildlife and small animals.

Work Placement
The Certificate In Animal Care contains 100 hours of work placement or 4 hours per week for 52 weeks

The workplace will need to provide animal related services such as veterinary clinics, veterinary hospitals  mobile vets, welfare organisations, pet shops and farming.

Your work placement can be completed anywhere in the world, and you will be responsible for the costs of any travel, accommodation, insurance or any other requirements related to your work placement.

Unit 1 -   Workplace Health and Safety -This unit covers WHS requirements in the workplace
Unit 2 -   Diet - This unit covers feline and canine diets
Unit 3 -   Microbiology - This unit covers microbial diseases 
Unit 4 -   Feline Psychology and Training - This unit covers feline sounds, body language and behaviour, health and training
Unit 5 -   Canine Psychology and Training - This unit covers quality of life, cognition, communication, training and general wellness
Unit 6 -   Guinea Pig Care - This unit covers history, diversity, housing, handling, diet, health and behaviour.
Unit 7 -   Arachnology - This unit covers physiology, structure and functions
Unit 8 -   Koala - This unit covers history, distribution, abundance, Feeding, Behaviour, Pathogens, Parasites and Predators.
Unit 9 -   Numbat, Mole, Bandicoot and Bilby - This unit covers behaviours, diet and habitat
Unit 10 - Platypus, Echidna and Wombat - This unit covers behaviours, diet and habitat
Unit 11 - Wallaby and Kangaroo - This unit covers habitat, geography, diet and reproduction
