Is TISOVN for me?

The courses offered at TISOVN are hard so if you want hard, challenging assessments, in-depth, current, up to date content, if you are committed and dedicated to the veterinary industry, if you want to continue with your education, if you want a supportive network then yes, TISOVN is for you.

The wait list

Sometimes TISOVN gets full! This usually happens when an awesome discount has been advertised and new students jump on board. If this happens, then we need to wait until other students have completed their course to make room for the newbies. How long does this take? We get asked this question frequently especially when students are waiting patiently to enrol. Sometimes turnaround can be a matter of days, sometimes it can be months. What we do recommended is that if you are interested in a course, complete the application process and you will be placed on the wait list. The sooner you do that the better.

What are the costs of the courses?

Please refer to the home page for prices

What currency are the prices in?

Prices are in Australian Dollars.

I can't pay for my course in full, do you have suggestions for me?

It is recommended that students either wait until they are in a more comfortable financial position to study or to seek a small loan company for assistance. Students can request a payment plan through TISOVN however a deposit is required before procedure.

How do I enrol?

Fill out the enrolment form and email admin@tisovn.com

How long does each course take to complete?

All courses are open, meaning there are no expiration dates. Students must not become complacent and are required to submit one assessment per month. Students are required to submit assessments regularly and if an assessment has not been submitted after 6 months, then the student will be removed from the school.

If students are found submitting another students assessment as their own then both students in question will be removed from TISOVN.

Students have three attempts to pass with every exam. If students do not pass on the third attempt, students will not be permitted to continue until passed. Students will be prohibited from continuing with the course for 4 weeks from third attempt fail. This will give students ample opportunity to learn the unit. Students will then have one attempt allocated. If students fail the next attempt, they will be prohibited from continuing the course for another 4 weeks and so on.

No; the title of veterinary nurse is not a protected title in Australia (and other countries) and there is no legislation or act for veterinary nursing, therefore an RTO is not required for veterinary nursing. It is common for veterinary practices to hire nurses without any qualifications in Australia. In Western Australia, it is a requirement that all practising veterinary nurses must be registered with the Veterinary Surgeon's Board of Western Australia. Students residing outside Australia are recommended to contact their Federal Register For Legislation to learn of the rules your country has.

Is Vet Nursing regulated in Australia?

Vet nursing is not regulated in Australia therefore there is no minimum requirement to practise as a vet nurse. Students do not need a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing to practice as a vet nurse in Australia. It is up to the individual practices on what their policies are. For other countries, please refer to TISOVN Magazine Vol 2 for information.

What are CPD Courses?

CPD courses are available for certified vet nurses or for uncertified vet nurses who have more than two years industry experience. CPD is compulsory in some countries, however in Australia, they are NOT compulsory. Please confirm with your countries legislation what the CPD regulations are.

What is the accreditation/recognition of TISOVN courses?

TISOVN offers accredited Certificates. This means that our Certificates meet specific international standards.

How are the grades assessed?

TISOVN has high expectations of its students and marking is high. Students should expect to fail the unit if their assessments are not thorough enough, or for poor presentation and will fail if assessments are not completed in its entirety. Students are only permitted to receive 100% on all assessments and should expect to repeat an assessment until 100% is reached. Students are required to submit assessments frequently and if an assessment has not been submitted after six months, then the student will be removed from the school.
