- Certificate In Intro To Feline Care
- Mini Cert Handling Feline Emergencies
- Mini Cert Handling Canine Emergencies
- Mini Cert Intro To Biochemistry
Q) What do you like about the course/s you are studying?
A) - The courses are informative
- The case studies are interesting
- The units flow into each other
- The units are easy to follow
- Marked quickly which makes it easier to smash a few out on the days off work
Q) If more than one course, which one is your favourite and why?
A) hmm thats a hard one, I think the Pathology course was my most favourite, the case studies where interesting, I found myself wondering what the outcome of the cases were. I was engrossed in all the different types of cells and the processes uses.
Q) Why did you decide to study those course/s?
A) I completed my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through another TAFE and my course never offered a unit on Anatomy & Physiology which I thought was a key thing to learn about as a Veterinary Nurse.
During my studies I had a key interest in the pathology side of of things which sparked my interest in the clinical Pathology course and biochemistry course.
Having my own cats and dogs the canine and intro to feline short courses sparked my interest to learn more about how to care for not only my own pets but also those coming through in clinic as they are a major part in small animal clinics.
Q) How did you hear about TISOVN?
A) I first heard about TISOVN from Jaime Sky at the Veterinary Nurse Workshops in Perth that I attended whilst studying my Cert IV VN.
Q) Why did you choose TISOVN as your preferred institution?
A) I chose TISOVN as I love what they stand for, I love that TISOVN is about the students and the material covered not the $$ and I love the community support on the Facebook pages. Also love the fact that they are internationally accredited.
Q) What do you like most about TISOVN?
A) I love that the assignments all flow into each other and that they are marked super quick so your not waiting weeks on end to know if your hard work has paid off and you have grasped the topic correctly. The assessors are all lovely and I never stress or get anxiety about asking a question as they all treat you with respect and like your not an inconvenience.
I love the newsletters and great incentives that are offered which drive me to keep going with my education to expand my knowledge.
I love the recognition, it's great to see how well everyone else is doing through their studies.
I love the other students and how friendly they are, how they help each other in their studies and congratulate others on their recognition.
I love that there are no photos or videos which can be so hard, time consuming and a nuisance to try get in clinic especially when everyone's busy.
Overall TISOVN is a great environment and I am proud to be a student!
Q) What's your big life's dream?
A) I love animals, being a person who suffered with social anxiety since I was young I always found a haven with animals where I could be myself. My big dream in life would to be a Wildlife or Zoo Vet Nurse working with animals that are so majestic and misunderstood most of the time.
Q) Any advice to give to new students?
A) My advice for new students would to not be afraid and go for it! There is so much support at TISOVN, so much more informative with courses that capture your interest and aren't "boring" like other TAFEs which make it hard to study.
